short biography/info':
Les Wilson is without doubt one of the UK's best blues guitarists , and a fine singer too Having established the Houserockers in 1981 , the band is well known in the UK and Europe, and enjoyed a 3rd headline spot at the British Blues Festival at Colne 2004 . The Houserockers perform frequently in Holland and Belgium - for example headlining the Drijf-In blues festival - Giethoorn in Holland August 2005 & the Luxembourg Jazz & Blues festival 2004 and the t'Eiland Blues Festival at Oudenaarde/Belgium July 2006. 2007 saw the UK Banbury Blues festival in March . "2008 has 4 visits to Belgium/Holland with a blues festival at Zelzate, Belgium in August and the Koekelare Lettens Blues festival for October in Belgium .
Les is one of the great slide guitarists in the high-energy style of George Thorogood /Hound Dog Taylor /Elmore James/Sonny Landreth - without the slide its Buddy Guy/Son Seals/ BB.King , Albert King/ The Fabulous Thunderbirds and much more . Les also prides himself on excellent and wide-ranging choice of material - this is definitely not your average blues band .

REVIEW OF ' SLIDE IT ON OVER ' - in Blues Revue - USA's premier blues magazine - April/May 2005 issue .....................................
" The 6th album from a UK guitar veteran ....yields great listening. Les Wilson & the Mighty Houserockers are known for crashing , Hound Dog Taylor inspired raveups - and they don't disappoint here , with rowdy readings of Taylor's 'Gimme Back My Wig' and Hank Williams' 'Move it On Over' . Wilson's compositions expand the playing field , with Otis Redding - approved deep soul ballads ( 'We Still Got Time' ) , roots rock ( 'I Got It Made' ) , power blues anthems ( 'Iknow What I'm Doing' ) and funky blues ( 'Chicken Banana & 'Baby Please' ) . Cover choices - Fabulous Thunderbirds , Sonny Landreth , Tom Waits , further broaden the horizons. Even when Wilson plays hard , the Houserockers keep the music firmly rooted in blues. " ( Buy it at gigs - or contact Les as above.)

Les has an exciting new pool of great musicians working with him , including
Chris Lomas on bass - Chris played with Les way back - and recorded on the very first Houserockers album 'Fine Lookin Woman ' . Chris was with Eddy Morton & the Bushburys , and is one of the most experienced and respected bass players on the blues circuit. He was also with Ian Parker ( Parkers Alibi ) .Following time spent living and playing in the USA - Chris now organises UK tours for visiting USA bluesmen such as Tommy McCoy/Paul Byrd/ & Jimmy Griswold. Chris played bass for the UK tour of the great Mojo Buford . He also runs his own blues outfit 'Memphis In The Meantime' .
Fred Skidmore - keys - Fred features heavily on the new album - has played on two previous Houserockers albums, gigged with many great names such as Connie Lush , and he has been a part of the tour band with Chris Lomas - for visiting USA bluesmen. A musician much in demand.
Micky Barker - drums - has seen service with most of the great Midlands names such as Steve Gibbons /Trevor Burton/Magnum - - a truly outstanding drummer with great feel.
Dave Sutherland - first played with Les and the Houserockers 15 years ago - they recorded the album ' Fuelled Up ' togetherin 1992. Dave is also a songwriter and singer in his own right .
